CACI Celebrates the 242nd Birthday of the U.S. Army
Two hundred and forty-two years after the 2nd Continental Congress established the United States Army on June 14, 1775, it is still going strong, protecting American citizens and freedoms around the world. It has grown considerably since the original resolution:
“Resolved, That six companies of expert riflemen, be immediately raised in Pennsylvania, two in Maryland, and two in Virginia; that each company consist of a captain, three lieutenants, four sergeants, four corporals, a drummer or trumpeter, and sixty-eight privates.”
Today the service is “Army Strong!” and its mission has never wavered. Army soldiers are ever true to their motto, “This We’ll Defend,” and we are witness to their resolve every day, on every continent, in missions carried out according to the seven Army values: Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage.
At CACI, we recognize and are Ever Vigilant of those values. We always strive to do the right thing. We are proud that our solutions and services provide the Army with the information and cutting-edge technology it needs to meet its critical missions around the world, and we are ever grateful for the dedication and sacrifices of those who serve daily in defense of our nation and freedoms.
Happy Birthday to the United States Army!
